Pupils should now be clear about the challenge facing them – to identify and save an orphaned joey – and now embark on the main part of the Case. By then end of this lesson pupils will have completed posters for species containing: a graph showing the growth of their species or kangaroo, tabulated feeding data and other interesting information. The graphs of five kangaroo species will be clearly presented in the room, and pupils will have selected their own unique joey from the generating your joey software. All further activities will be based on this joey.

Pupils should end this lesson quite aware that they are now ready to begin the focal Case of this series, that of identifying and saving their joey. A sense of anticipation should be encouraged.
